Getting Driving Records; My Own/Others?

You can get a copy of your driving record in two different ways. You can either go into a full service driver license office (please check the driver license office list to determine full service offices Colorado - Driver License Offices) and obtain a copy of the record, or, you can send in a written request to this office. In the request you will need to include your full name, date of birth, and your driver license number if available. A complete legible signature is required on the request.

The fee for a non-certified driving record is $2.20, the fee for a certified copy of a driving record is $2.70. We will accept a personal check or money order made out to the Department of Revenue.

How do I get a copy of someone else's driving record?

Due to the Privacy Law you as an individual cannot receive a copy of someone else's driving record without that persons written permission. If you are an employer or there is a court case pending you can read over our Requestor Release and Affidavit of Intended Use form (DR2489) to see if you meet any of the listed criteria to request the record. If you meet the criteria you can print the form fill it out and send it in with the fee which is $2.20 for a copy of the motor vehicle record or $2.70 to have it certified
